How to begin Ashtanga Yoga at Jois:


If you are not familiar with the Ashtanga Yoga method we recommend that new students begin with our One Month Beginners Course. Courses included two classes per week for one month as well as a monthly unlimited pass allowing you to attend our other classes. The Beginner’s Courses cover a complete introduction to the Ashtanga Yoga Mysore method of practice and provide the foundation for everything you need to know about Ashtanga Yoga.

We hold our courses based on demand so please contact us to arrange a convenient start date. Courses include two classes per week for four weeks as follows (as well as access to all other classes for one month)

Beginners Course times:

Mondays and Wednesdays at 6.30pm OR

Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 6am or 8am

To start please contact for a morning start date or for a 6.30pm start date.

Mysore Style is for Everyone: Mysore Style is for students of all levels and the best place for anyone to start. Whether you are young or old, beginner or long time practitioner, flexible or stiff, strong or not, this is the best class. The only thing required to attend is a desire to learn & practice Yoga.

One-on-one Attention: In Mysore Style you will get individual attention within a group setting. You get taught by your teacher in the Ashtanga Yoga method at a pace specifically tailored for you, your body, your level of flexibility and strength.

Flexible Start Time: Mysore Style is an open practice time, meaning you may come and start your practice anytime between the scheduled hours. Simply leave enough time to finish your practice before the scheduled hours end.
